The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area-Yugra investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched an investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 216 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules during construction, entailing death of a person).

Today around 10 AM, a fire started in a tank containing oil at the refinery station of Prirazlomnoye oilfield. According to preliminary information, three workers were working at the suspended tank which led to a fire in the bottom tank. Two of the worker suffered burns, another one was killed.

An investigative team is working at the scene at the moment. They are examining the scene, questioning workers, have assigned necessary forensic tests to find out the reason for the incident.

Investigative operations are underway to find out what exactly happened and identify those responsible for safety breach.
