Veliky Novgorod mayor charged with negligence entailing violation of rights of orphans

The Novgorod Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigation against mayor of Veliky Novgorod Yuri Bobryshev. Today Boboryshev was charged with a crime under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence).

According to investigators, the accused for a long time had not executed a decision of Novgorod District Court obligating the administration of Veliky Novgorod to provide specialized housing to orphans and neglected children.

It was reported earlier, that Novgorod Region budget had allocated over 32 million rubles to the administration of Veliky Novgorod in 2014 to buy housing for orphans. However Bobryshev, who had opportunity to execute the court decision, failed to take due measures and the allocated money was redistributed to other municipal facilities of Novgorod Region.
