Probe launched in death of two small children in sanatorium in Chelyabinsk Region

In the evening of 7 November 2015, dead bodies of a 7-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy were recovered from Lake Chebarkul. The Chelyabinsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched an investigation in a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide of two or more people due to improper discharge of professional duties).

According to preliminary information, the children were on treatment in a sanatorium on the bank of Lake Chebarkul. After a walk along the lake bank, the teachers saw cracks on the ice and noticed that two of the children were missing.

At present, investigators are looking in all the details of the incident and identifying officials involved in the crime.
