The Belgorod Region Directorate of the Invesitgative Committee has charged a 22-eyar-old resident of Kursk Region with a crime under Part 2, item “e” of Article 126 of the RF Penal Code (kidnapping of a minor).

According to the investigation, On 10 March 2016, the accused came into an infant pathology and prematurely born baby department and kidnapped from there a newborn girl, born by a woman from Belgorod Region on 16 February and was treated at the department. She demonstrated the baby to her friends and parents as her own child. After the kidnapping, the woman went to the settlement of Kommunar, Belovo District, Kursk District and then was detained there.

On 12 March 2016, following the request of investigators the woman was placed in custody pending trial. The investigation is ongoing.
