St. Petersburg Office of Investigative Committee request to get probe opened by inquiry department against former nurse suspected of beating resident of sieged Leningrad

The Saint Petersburg Office of the Investigative Committee filed a request to the prosecutor’s office to take for investigation a criminal case opened by the inquiry department of the Nevsky District Office of the Ministry of the Interior against former nurse of the cardiological department of the war veteran hospital over a crime under Part 1 of Article 116 of the RF Penal Code (beating), which caused great stir the wider public.

The case states that on 30 April 2016 the suspect beat a local resident aged 92 years, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War who was being treated in the said hospital.

The investigators are planning to conduct investigative and search operations to find out all the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
