The Saint Petersburg Directorate of the Investigative Committee continues a criminal investigation into a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) after dead body of an Azerbaijani national was found on 20 June 2016 at Sofiyskaya vegetable depot.

Emil Guseynov, 27 was reported arrested and charged with shooting the victim to death.

Investigators atogether with officers of the Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region Directorate of the Russian Ministry of the Interior have detained ex-convict Afgan Aliyev, 45.

According to the investigators, Aliyev disliked the victim and decided to have him killed. He employed Guseynov to do that for a fee of about 4 million rubles and in April-May 2016 paid him an advance of 1,250,000 rubles.

The suspect is expecting arrest and charges. The investigation is ongoing.
