The Moscow Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in negligence of unidentified officials of Stupino District administration and Stupino District Enterprise of Housing Facilities that entailed death of a girl under part 2 of Article 293 of the RF Penal Code.

As became known earlier, on the evening of 20 May 2017, the Stupino District police got a report that an 8-year-old girl was killed at playground. Investigators have established that the girl fell off a swing at a playground in Sovetskaya Street in the settlement of Staraya Sitnya, Stupino District. When the swing swung back, it hit the girl on the head killing her on the scene.

Unidentified officials of the Stupino District Administration and Stupino District Enterprise of Housing Facilities had failed to properly do their duties of maintaining the equipment at the playground, namely the Hammock swing by violating the state standard prohibiting rigid elements of brackets and by not replacing them, which led to the girl’s death.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime and to identify those responsible. The investigation is ongoing.
