During his working trip to Saint Petersburg, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin visited the Family Upbringing Assistance Centre No. 11 under patronage of the Saint Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia. This centre brings up orphaned children and children deprived of parental care from the age of 4 to 18. Today it is resided by 47 children, some of whom have disabilities and require constant medical supervision.
The staff of the centre cares about well-being of their residents and from day to day tries to provide the children with everything they need and to surround them with care. The noble work of educators that genuinely care about the future of their students deserves respect. The Investigative Committee understands all the complexity and importance of this responsible work and its representatives help children left without parents by providing them with domestic and moral support.
The centre staff members told Alexander Bastrykin about the everyday life of the centre and its social and living conditions. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia personally examined and evaluated the equipment of the institution and asked about problems related to its activities.
The Head of the Committee met the residents of the centre and communicated with them - he asked about their academic achievements, hobbies and future plans. Alexander Bastrykin wished all the students happy holidays, moral strength and success in education. All the children received memorable and sweet gifts.
The direction of the institution thanked the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia for his attention and support. The Chairman assured that officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia will continue providing regular help to the institution and instructed the direction of the Saint Petersburg Academy to provide legal assistance to the residents of the children’s centre and suggested organising for them joint sports sections and sports events with the students of the Academy on the basis of the Investigative Committee educational institution that has a swimming pool, a gym and other necessary equipment for high-quality leisure for the children.
Alexander Bastrykin underlined that it was necessary to do everything possible for social adaptation of the residents of the children’s centre and added that it was very important for each child to feel the warmth and love of adults, despite everything.
