Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia A.V. Fedorov gave a speech at a legal forum in Saratov

Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Vyacheslavovich Fedorov, gave a speech at the Saratov State Law Academy at the legal forum "The Role of Law in Ensuring the National Security of Modern Russia."

In his speech, A.V. Fedorov presented the results of an analysis of the practice of countering various criminal manifestations that pose a threat to national security. He pointed out the paradoxical situation when there is evidence of a crime committed by a specific individual, yet this person has not only escaped punishment but has not even been recognized by the court as a criminal. Moreover, this individual is formally considered innocent because, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.

Alexander Vyacheslavovich emphasized that the establishment of a legal mechanism, which allows to conduct an investigation and trial of a criminal case for crimes that have no statute of limitations, could become an important step towards ensuring national security and combating the glorification of Nazism.
