The evidence gathered by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has been deemed sufficient by the court to sentence Zinoviy Parasyuk in absentia. He has been found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 360 of the Criminal Code of the RF (attacking the premises of persons under international protection with the aim of complicating international relations).

The investigation and the court have established that on March 9, 2016, in Lviv, Parasyuk, together with his son Vladimir, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with whom he shares anti-Russian positions, participated in an action organized by radical Ukrainian groups in Lviv with the aim of complicating international relations. During this action, the Russian Consulate General was attacked: the accomplices penetrated its territory and threw various objects at the building’s facade.

Zinoviy Parasyuk is hiding from law enforcement. He was placed on an international wanted list. The investigative authorities have taken exhaustive measures to locate and extradite him.

By court verdict in absentia, Parasyuk has been sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime penal colony.

Earlier, for the attack on the consulate, public calls for terrorist activities, and desecration of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Parasyuk was sentenced in absentia to imprisonment.
