Two police officers held in St. Petersburg on suspicion of abduction and robbery

The Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case under paragraphs “a”, “c”, “d” and “h” of part 2 of article 126 of the RF Penal Code (abduction), article 163 (extortion).

An operative of Kurortny District Crime Detection Department of Saint-Petersburg Office of the Interior Ministry and deputy head of Kronstadt District Crime Detection Department of Saint-Petersburg Office of the Interior Ministry have been held on suspicion of the crimes. Custodial restraint and pressing of charges are under discussion.

The investigators with the support of the officials of the Internal Security Office of the Interior Ministry and officers of OMON are carrying out a number of investigating operations, including searches in Kurortny District and Kronstadt District Departments of the Interior Ministry. The investigation is ongoing.
