The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Jewish Autonomous Region have launched a criminal investigation into alienation of municipal autonomous institution Center of Russian cinematography – cinema Rodina at understate price. The criminal case was opened under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, the Rodina cinema was illegally alienated to third persons at considerably understated price. As a result the city of Birobidzhan suffered loss of over 43 million rubles.

The procedural decision to launch the investigation was made based on the conclusions of a pre-investigating check carried out in connection with the report posted in media.

At present initial investigation is underway. The investigators are going to find out all the circumstances relevant for establishing the truth and to identify persons that have to be prosecuted under the current investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
