The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk Region have opened the second criminal case against the former head of the town of Ob on suspicion of a crime under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence).

According to investigators, in 2013, the town administration and OOO Asia, Housing Facilities Management Company, (Tomsk), concluded municipal contracts on participation in construction flats to move citizens from ramshackle buildings and dangerous structures. The overall sum of the contract was over 34 million rubles, half of which was transferred as a prepayment on the account of a construction company. However, on the initial state the head of the town illegally approved tender documents providing for provision of execution of liabilities in less amount that the prepayment, which is violation of the current legislation. As a result the company did not start construction, the full sum of prepayment was not returned, causing damage to the municipal budget.

The investigators are gathering evidence.

The first criminal case against the former head of the town of Ob charged with negligence in residence construction has been sent to court earlier.

In April 2014, the head of the town was dismissed by the decision of the Ob Deputies Council.
