In Moscow sentence passed upon man guilty of killing actor Vyacheslav Titov

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict 24-year-old David Zaseyev from North Ossetia. He was found guilty of a crime under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

The court and investigators found that at night of 29 December 2011, famous actor Vaycheslav Titov invited to his apartment Zaseyev, with whom he had acquainted in Moscow. During a sudden row out of personal motives the accused hit Titov twice on his head by a heavy object, after that put a plastic bag on his head and strangled him with his belt.

Zaseyev was detained on 18 December 2013 during investigating and search operations in North Ossetia and convoyed to Moscow. During the probe the accused pleaded guilty.

The court has sentenced Zaseyev to 9 years to be served in a maximum-security penal colony.
