The Irkutsk Garrison Military Investigations Department of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against former accountant of Irkutsk branch of OAO Slavyanka (OJSC) Irina Berezovskaya. She is charged with a crime under part 4 of article 160 of RF Criminal Code (stealing of other’s property entrusted to the accused, committed using official position and on especially large scale).

According to investigators, in accordance with her official position Berezovskaya received from residents of the village Sredny of the Irkutsk Region payments for communal services. She had to have encashed the money and together with reporting documents forward for further transfer to settlement account of the branch. However, in the period between May 2011 and February 2012 the accountant misrepresented information in the reports and took away part of the money for herself. She stole this way a total of over 2.2 million rubles.

During the preliminary investigation Berezovskaya compensated about 1.4 million rubles of her own accord. Representatives of OAO Slavyanka filed a motion to recover from the accused the rest of the damage.
