One of suspects of plotting kidnapping and murder of commercial bank president held in Moscow

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation over organization and preparing for kidnapping and murder of, and for extortion a ransom from the president of a commercial bank containing signs of crimes under part 1 of article 30, part 3 of article 33, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105, part 1 of article 30, part 3 of article 33, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 126, article 163 and part 1 of article 30, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, in August 2013, a 30-year-old man decided to kidnap the president of a commercial bank to extort from him a ransom of 200 million rubles. To do that, he started searching for a perpetrator for a fee of 25 million rubles. Then the organizer gave the operational agents acting kidnappers and killers the necessary information and the address of the garage, where they had have to deliver the victim. When the victim had been delivered to the said place at the moment when the suspect started extorting the money he was apprehended by the operational agents.

At present investigating operations are under way to find all the circumstances of the crime, including the motive. Charges and custodial pretrial restraint are being decided on. Investigation is ongoing.
