Official of prosecutor’s office in Ingushetia charged with attempted murder

On the order of the Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee the North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate has accepted into procedure a criminal case opened by the investigative bodies in the Republic of Ingushetia over the signs of a crime under part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “a” and “g” of part 2 of article 105, part 2 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (attempted murder of two people, illegal circulation of firearms).

It has been found that on 22 August 2013, about 5 PM in the territory adjacent to household No 27 in Suvorov lane, Gamurziyevsky district in the city of Nazran, two unidentified people shot two local men from a 9 mm gun. The victims were taken to hospital and timely received medical assistance. The same day Adam Uzhakhov, senior prosecutor of the department of the prosecutor’s office in the Republic of Ingushetia, and Ababukar Uzhakhov came to the investigating bodies of their own accord.

Both Uzhakhovs were held as suspects and on the request of investigators they were placed in custody as a pretrial restraining measure. During urgent investigating operations, the investigators have seized the firearms used to commit the crime, empty 9 mm cases, bullets extracted from the victims’ bodies.

Adam Uzhakhov has already been charged. The investigators have fixed a number of expert examinations including ballistic, chemical, medical forensic and others. The investigators are looking into all the circumstances of the crime and the motives. Investigation is ongoing.
