In connection with information about the murder of the First Secretary of the Embassy of Russia in Abkhazia Dmitry Vishernev in Sukhum, the Main Investigation Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee in the North Caucasus Federal District organized a procedural check.

In connection with the existing protocol on cooperation between the General Prosecutor's Office of Abkhazia and the Investigative Committee of Russia, investigators of the Main Investigation Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee in the North Caucasus Federal District are going to assist their Abkhaz colleagues in the investigation of this crime.

Russian investigators are currently gathering the necessary information and, as part of the check, are ready to go to Sukhum. Based on check results, the appropriate procedural decision will be taken in Abkhazia.
