The Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a criminal case over crimes under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (preparing to commit a terrorist act) and Part 2 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (trafficking in weapons , committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) against the mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov , a former assistant prosecutor of the city - Khasavyurt Magomed Abdulgalimov, and deputy head of the city of Kaspiysk - Yusuf Dzhaparov.
Investigators have good reason to believe that the suspects were preparing to attempt on the life of a statesman to influence the decisions of the authorities of the Republic of Dagestan. They planned to use an illegally acquired portable air defense missile system "Strela -2M" as the instrument of the crime. Today it has been found and seized by investigators in a secret compartment made by Abdulgalimov in one of the districts of the Republic of Dagestan. In addition, today the house of Said Amirov in Levashinskom district of Dagestan was searched - investigators discovered and seized items relevant to the investigation.
A new episode of criminal activity has been identified during the investigation of a criminal case over attempting on the life of the Acting Head of the Investigative Department of the Sovetsky district of Makhachkala of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Dagestan Arsen Gadzhibekov.
