Pre-investigating check launched in Amur Region in claims of media about violations during vaccination of livestock during flood

Amur Region Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigative check in connection with the information voiced at the meeting of Governmental Commission on Far East flood relief operations about mass violations in vaccination of livestock.

It is reported that several farmers appealed to Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev demanding repeated vaccination of the cattle. According to preliminary information after vaccination in July-September 2013 there have been 5 outbreaks of murrain registered in Amur Region, causing loss of over 1.5 thousand heads of cattle and damage about 15 million rubles.

Vice-Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Andrey Lavrenko, who is now paying a working visit in the Amur Region, has demanded to give legal qualification to the actions of the officials of the Federal Service of Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and other supervisory authorities. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
