Khabarovsk Territory Investigations Directorate accepts case over gas explosion for investigation

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Khabarovsk Territory have accepted for investigation a criminal case over a gas explosion in a house in Northern district of the city of Khabarovsk opened under part 1 of article 118 of the RF Penal Code (reckless grievous bodily harm).

According to initial data, in the morning of 12 May 2014, an explosion of household gas happened in a flat (where nobody had lived for a long time) on the first floor of house in Danilovsky Street in Khabarovsk. After that there was a fire damaging 6 flats. 17 tenants were evacuated from the house. 10 people with injuries and burns of different severity were taken to hospitals. Room dividers and floor slabs were damaged by a shock wave.

Today the criminal case in the incident has been seized from the Khabarovsk Territory Office of the Russian Interior Ministry and passed for further investigation to the Khabarovsk Territory Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
