CVR recovered during investigating Mi-8 crash in Murmansk Region

The investigating bodies of the Northwestern Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over a Mi-8 helicopter crash in the Murmansk Region as containing signs of a crime under part 3 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules of aircraft traffic entailing death of two or more people by negligence).

Examination of the Mi-8 crash scene is continued. The cockpit voice recorder of the helicopter was found last night and sent to be studied by specialists. On 2 June 2014, 15 bodies were found during search-and-rescue operations.

By the present moment five bodies have been identified.

The preparation operations to lift the helicopter from the bottom of the lake have been underway since 8 AM. The aircraft will be lifted by the rescue team of the Northern Fleet using special equipment.
