In St. Petersburg criminal investigation launched into murder of girl in Tunisia

The investigating bodies of the Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation into the murder of an 8-year-old girl on one of resorts in Tunisia. The criminal case was opened into the crime under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a child).

According to investigators, a body of the 8-year-old girl from Saint-Petersburg with signs of violent death was found in the bathroom of a hotel room in the city of Mahdia in Tunisia. it is reported that the girl was on holiday with her 43-year-old mother.

At present necessary investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. Necessary tests, including forensic medical one, have been set up. The investigation is under control of the senior officials of the Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate.
