The guest of honor, the protagonist of the event, the keynote speaker was the veteran Pyotr Vasilyevich Prunitsa. During the war, he decided to volunteer for the front. Since he was only 16-year-old, he fibbed a little at the recruiting office and said that he was 18. Thus, the young defender of the Motherland got in the infantry. He then served in the artillery in the engineer troops. During one of the battles he was seriously wounded. The veteran celebrated the victory in the hospital. Pyotr Vasilyevich Prunitsa dedicated the rest of his life to serving his motherland – he became a professional soldier (served in the engineer troops). Employees of the Investigations Directorate thanked the veteran for the victory, and observed a minute of silence in commemoration of the war dead.
