In Stavropol Territory local resident to stand trial on charges of providing services for children not meeting safety standards

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Stavropol Territory have finished investigating a criminal case against a 57-year-old resident of Kislovodsk charged with a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (providing services for children, not meeting safety standards).

According to investigators, in the period between 2000 and 2 May 2014, the accused not having ownership documents or license for his property and carousels, organized an amusement park in Kirov Street in Kislovodsk. There he provided services that did not meet safety standards. During the period of operation the man failed to carry out technical maintenance. Eventually, on 2 May 2014, when two girls born in 2005 and 2006 were riding the Kangaroo carousel one of its sections got broken and with children inside fell on a concrete surface. The children were taken to hospital with a blunt force stomach trauma and fractures of 2nd and 4th vertebra.

By now the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
