Head of Krasnodar Territory Investigations Directorate assumes control over investigation in teenage sexual abuse

The Head of the Krasnodar Territory Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has held a meeting where he heard the report on the investigation in the sexual abuse of a teenager. It has been decided to withdraw the case from the territorial investigations body and pass it on for further investigation to the First Major Investigations Directorate for Krasnodar Territory.

Vadim Bugayenko also met with the victim’s parents and told them about the measures taken.

As of now, one of the suspects is detained, the investigator is going to request a court to place him in custody pending trial. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime, including identifying the perpetrators and locating other persons involved in the crime.

The investigation is under personal control of the senior officials of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and the Head of the territorial investigations directorate.

At the end of the meeting the head of the investigations directorate made a number of personnel decisions – to dismiss an investigator from the Investigative Committee, to demote the deputy head of the territorial investigations department. The head of the investigations department has been suspended from the office for the period of the check.
