In Altai Territory former head of Barnaul administration charged with abuse of office

The Altai Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged former head of Barnaul administration Igor Savintsev with a crime under part 2 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of power committed by head of local government).

According to investigators, between November 2010 and June 2011, Igor Savintsev violated the law and prepared and signed a resolution letting on lease lands owned by Barnaul municipality to two companies under his control without holding an auction. After that he ensured that buildings were built there and proper documents were made by that creating basis for the lands to be bought at the price much lower than the market one. Those illegal actions caused the municipality damage of over 15 million rubles.

The investigators have request ready to be sent to the court on restraint of Savintsev.

The investigators keep on gathering evidence and consolidating it. The investigation is ongoing.
