Students of school No 1 of the village of Ivanovka, Amur Region were taken to Ivanovka District Hospital in the evening of 21 January 2016 with a preliminary diagnosis toxic and infectious poisoning.

According to the available information, the children started complaining after eating in the school cafeteria. The Amur Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation into a crime under part 1 of article 238 of the Russian Penal Code (providing unsafe services).

At present, an investigative team is working at the scene looking into all the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
