The Samara Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened an investigation against two officials of the Samara Region Agriculture and Food Ministry suspected of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in the period between 2014 and January 2016, the suspects acting in a group and in conspiracy to steal money, got from a woman, who was a representative of a sole proprietor, 3 million rubles for the commitment they could not meet – getting a grant of 10 million rubles for developing a family livestock farm – at a commission of the Samara Region Agriculture and Food Ministry for development of farms by participants of the event “Development of small farms” of the  regional program for development of agriculture and agricultural market regulation, raw materials and food of Samara Region in 2013-2020.

At present the suspects have been detained and are expecting custodial restraint. Searches are underway at their offices and residences. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the crime. The investigation is ongoing. Operational support is provided by the officers of the Samara Region Main Office of the Ministry of the Interior.
