Investigators keep on working at crash site in Rostov-on-Don despite bad weather

Following the order of Alexander Bastrykin experienced criminalists of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee keep on working at the Boeing 737 800 crash scene. According to investigators, the FlyDubai flight 981 was on its way from Dubai to Rostov and went down at 3:40 a.m. during a landing attempt killing all 55 passengers and 7 crew members.

Despite rough weather the investigators are actively examining the crash site. The investigators of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee are collecting the remains of the victims, which then are going to be sent for identification, forensic medical enquiry and DNA test. Both black boxes have been found and will soon be passed on to specialists for decoding. The investigators have also started to confiscate flight documents and analyze the actions of the airport’s emergency services. They are also establishing a contact with the FlyDubai airline, whose representatives are soon to come to Rostov-on-Don.

Different versions of the crash are being considered, including a mistake of the crew, technical failure of the plane, complex weather conditions and other factors. The investigation is ongoing.
