On 30 July 2016 at 06.45 am two men with gunshot wounds were found dead in a private house in the village of Partizan Namtsy district of Sakha (Yakutia) Republic. Investigative authorities of the Investigative Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee in Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) initiated a criminal investigation into crimes under Provision “a” of Part 2 of Article 195 of the RF Penal Code and Part 3 of Article 30, Provision “a” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder, attempted murder).

According to investigators, during the night of 30 July 2016 a local resident of Namtsy district, after drinking and having a quarrel with one of his drinking companions, went home to take a hunting shotgun and cartridges. After that he returned to the drinking site and, willing to cause death, fired numerous shots at the persons he had been previously drinking with present in the house. Two men died at the scene from the wounds and two other men suffered wounds of varying severity.

At the moment the suspect is detained, and the measure of restraint is being decided. Investigative and procedural activities are being carried out, crime scene investigation has been completed, witnesses have been questioned and rulings on forensic examination of the injured and of the murdered have been made. The probe continues.
