Investigative authorities of the Southern Investigative Directorate on Transport of Russia’s Investigative Committee investigates a criminal case into the fact of murder of a 14-year-old girl near Magri railway complex on signs of crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

As became known earlier, 15 July 2016 at 12.40 on the 1895th km near the railway track of Magri railway complex of the North-Caucasian railway a body of a 14-year-old girl was found with signs of asphyxiation and battery.

During the investigative activities carried out by investigators of the Southern Investigative Directorate on Transport together with Russia’s Ministry of the Internal Affairs on Transport in the North-Caucasian Federal District a suspect, 33-year-old Sergey Thorov, was held on the evening of 1 August 2016 in the village of Rassvet Rostov region. The investigators found that the murder was committed while attempting to rape a minor.

At the moment investigative activities are being carried out to identify the circumstances of the committed crime and the evidence is being catalogued. The investigation continues.
