In Voronezh region criminal case launched into hard landing of helicopter

Investigative bodies of the Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee have launched a criminal case into crime under Part 1 of Article 263 of the RF Penal Code (breach of safety standards for operation and traffic of aircraft entailing grievous bodily harm and serious material damage by negligence).

According to investigators, on August 7 , 2016 during a recreational flight in settlement of Borki in Ramon District of the Voronezh Region, the Robinson R66 helicopter, owned by non-profit  partnership, caught on a power line over the river, which caused it to hard landing.

As a result of the crash, the passengers of the helicopter suffered various injuries. Moreover, the Robinson R66 helicopter, the cost of which exceeds 1 million rubles, was destroyed.

At the moment the investigators organized a number of necessary investigative operations  to find out all the details of the crime. As part of the criminal case investigation, an investigation and operational group have been created, the accident site examined, aircraft documents seized, witnesses and a pilot questioned.

The investigation is ongoing.
