The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a teacher of a day care center suspected of providing unsafe services under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 24 October 2016, the woman hit a inmate with a slipper on her back and used foul language because the girl was refusing to go for an afternoon nap. The girl’s parents saw a bruise on her back and when the girl told them what had happened they went to the police.

The investigators are going to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident, study the documents at the facility, including job descriptions and carry out other investigative operations. They are also going to check if there have been other instances of violation of children’s rights in the facility.
