The Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 56-year-old local resident suspected of plotting a contract murder under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 3 of Article 33, Part 2, item “h” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, from January to 2 February 2017, the accused disliked the 54-year-old wife of her ex-husband and thinking that it would be too hard for her to kill her, started looking for a hitman. However, the police learnt about her plans and further talks and meetings between the woman and a police agent who acted as a killer were controlled by officers of the Orekhovo-Zuyevo Police station and the investigative and search office of the Moscow Region Police department.

The woman offered 100 thousand rubles for the murder and paid 15 thousand rubles in advance. On 7 February 2017, the suspect met with the killer – an operative – and received personal belongings of the target as a proof that the murder was complete. She then gave the agent another 50 thousand rubles promising to pay the last part later. After that the woman was apprehended.

At present, a set of investigative operations are underway to document the evidence. A court has ruled to put the woman in custody pending trial.
