Former court-appointed manager of OJSC Transaero Airlines detained under investigators motion

The Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to work over a criminal probe into non-payment for over two months of the law-granted payments to employees of OJSC Transaero Airlines (Part 2 of Article 145.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia) and embezzlement on a large scale (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

Today, under the motion of an investigator of the Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the court ruled to detain Mikhail Kotov, the former court-appointed manager of OJSC Transaero Airlines accused of committing offences under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Russia (embezzlement on a large scale) and Part 2 of Article 201 (abuse of authority in a profit-making organization).

According to the investigation, the accused committed criminal acts (inactions), which resulted in embezzlement of the Airlines' property worth over one billion rubles, and also falsified a number of documents in order to conceal acquisitive crimes committed in association with former Director General of OJSC Transaero Airlines Alexander Burdin, who had been previously charged and detained as well.
