In Moscow, probe launched into high-profile customs officer at suspicion on bribery of especially large scale

The Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened an investigation into the Deputy Chief of the Moscow Regional Customs of the Federal Customs Service of Russia under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia (bribe-taking on an especially large scale).

According to the investigation, at approx. 10 PM on November 28, 2018, in a Moscow café the Deputy Chief of the Moscow Regional Customs of the Federal Customs Service of Russia received a bribe in cash worth over 11 million roubles for his abstention from conducting of procedural activities upon a probe into a limited liability company.

At the moment, the investigative activities associated with the probe and aimed to gather evidence, are ongoing. The suspect has been arrested; the preventive measure is being decided upon.
