Probe into murder and attempted murder in Ingushetia referred to Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasian Federal District

The Ingushetia Republican Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal inquiry into offences under Paragraph G of Part 2 of Article 105 (murder committed by a group of persons); Part 3 of Article 30; Paragraphs A and G of Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder of two or more persons committed by a group of persons); Part 2 of Article 222 (illegal turnover of arms and ammunition) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

According to the Investigation, on December 31, 2018, approximately at 12.30 AM, unidentified persons made multiple shots with the firearms they were carrying at a Hyundai Solaris on the crossroad of Oskanova and Pionerskaya Streets in Nazran, the Republic of Ingushetia. The shooting left a 46-year-old passenger of the car dead on the spot, while a 28-year-old driver was admitted to the Ingushetia Republican Hospital. Empty cases were found and seized during an inspection of the scene.

Upon instruction of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, the inquiry has been referred to the Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasian Federal District of the Investigative Committee of Russia for further investigation.

Investigators and police officers take all possible measures to establish the circumstances of the offence and to identify the persons who committed it. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
