Upon instruction of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, a criminal inquiry into a woman reported missing in Moscow was referred to the Central Office of the Committee for further investigation.
To remind, in the evening of December 23, 2018 the 29-year-old woman left her work and went from the centre of Moscow to Tula by her personal Audi car. Search activities showed that a man joined her in the trip via a car-sharing service, near one of the subway stations in the South of Moscow. Following that, the car kept heading towards Moscow Region. The woman’s relatives lost contact with her, and the day after her husband reported her missing to the police.
On December 30, 2018, the well-conducted investigative actions and search activities provided for identifying and arresting of a man born in 1979, a resident of Serpukhov, Moscow Region, who admitted killing the woman, told about his motive, and explained that he had hid the body in a forested area in Moscow Region.
At the moment, investigators and forensics specialists together with the police continue the search activities to find the woman’s body.
Upon request of the investigation, the suspect was put into custody. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
