Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia gives instructions with reference to media reports

Today a federal TV channel broadcast that a young girl from Stavropol Territory, being in a hospital after a traffic accident, found out that her car was taken apart on a parking space where it was delivered by police officers. It was mentioned in the report that the parking lot was not related to the Ministry of Internal Affairs; however, the inspectors delivered the car there for unknown reasons.

Media also reported swindling activities against a volleyball player of the Russian Paralympic Team. When she was 21, the young girl decided to buy bionic prosthetics from an entrepreneur who urged the sportswoman to take out a loan of 5 million rubles. After receiving the money the man disappeared and stopped answering calls.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office of the Committee to request materials on these cases of the citizens’ rights violation from the Regional Investigations Directorates for examination and possible procedural decisions based on the jurisdiction of investigative units of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Apart from that, journalists reported about a 72-year-old citizen of Nizhny Novgorod unable to receive a Russian passport instead of a Soviet one due to a mistake in his surname in his birth certificate. Due to this situation, the man is deprived of all benefits and pension allowance.

Also, correspondents highlighted a problem in Irkutsk Region, where workers of a residential facility obliged a mother of a disabled child to pay alimony in favor of the children’s institution. The woman placed her son in the care of the facility on weekdays and she claims that, according to existing legislation, the alimony is unjustified since she didn’t abandon the child. The journalists expressed an opinion that the money was stolen.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the heads of regional investigative directorates to carry out pre-investigative probes into the reported facts, to establish all circumstances of the accident, and to make justified procedural decisions.

Apart from that, the media reported that a teenager from a school in the North of Moscow brought a traumatic gun to the school and fired a shot to the floor.

One more report contained a story of a senior citizen of Nizheudinsk, Irkutsk Region, who demanded to bring to justice the members of a commission that recognized her housing after a flood as fit for living but requiring internal refurbishment. After this statement, the apartment of the woman collapsed to the basement. Journalists report that there are eight apartments in the house but the owners are afraid to stay in this house and think that it is dangerous for their lives. Apart from that, the indicated problems also take place in two neighbor apartment buildings.

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate and the Irkutsk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee immediately launched pre-investigative probes into these facts; the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the progress and the results of the pre-investigative probes.

Also, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to send forensic investigators of the Central Office of the Committee to Bashkortostan to organize a full-scale search and to provide comprehensive assistance in the investigation into the disappearance of a 37-year-old man with his sons of 5 and 8 years of age.
