The Saratov Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has finished the criminal investigation into an offense under Part 1 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rape).
The investigation established that, on September 16, 2019, the doctor of one of the outpatient clinics of Kirovsky District of Saratov was going on a call to a patient in Zavokzalny rural settlement. The doctor could not find the address and asked a stranger man for help. He volunteered to walk her to the address. Having made sure that no one was around, the perpetrator grabbed the woman on her neck, knocked her down, committed a rape, and fled the scene. The victim reported the violence committed against her to the police.
Upon investigative motion, the court ruled to put the man in custody for two months. He fully admitted his guilt.
The Saratov Regional Investigations Directorate gathered enough evidence; therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the court to be tried on the merits.
