The evidence gathered by the Saratov Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has been found to be sufficient by the court to sentence a 55-year-old man, previously convicted. He has been found guilty of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rape).
The investigation and the court established that, on September 16, 2019, at about 5:30 PM, a doctor of one of the outpatient clinics of Kirovsky District of Saratov had been going to attend a patient in the Zavokzalny rural settlement. The doctor could not find the address and asked a stranger man for help. He volunteered to walk her to the address. On their way, the perpetrator, having made sure that no one was around, grabbed the woman on her neck, knocked her down, committed a rape, and fled the scene. The victim reported the violence committed against her to the police.
During the preliminary investigation, the man admitted his guilt in the alleged offense to the full.
The court sentenced him to 5.5 years of imprisonment in a special regime correctional colony.
