Investigative Committee gives legal assessment to actions of another person mentioned in the probe into mass riots in Moscow

During the investigation into the mass riots in Moscow on July 27, 2019, the Investigative Committee of Russia has concluded that the actions of Sergey Fomin lack criminality. The procedural decision has been made upon the results of an impartial legal assessment of all examined materials in total, including witness testimonies and the detailed examination of video records. The criminal prosecution of Fomin has been terminated, the preventive measure in the form of house detention has been canceled.

However, according to Russian law, his actions can be qualified as an administrative violation. The relevant materials have been sent to the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Russia for a response.

The criminal investigation into other persons involved is ongoing.
