Sentence imposed over a Voronezh citizen for rehabilitation of Nazism during The Immortal Regiment Online action in 2020

The evidence gathered by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was found by  court to be sufficient to sentence Voronezh citizen Alexander Khoroshiltsev. He was found guilty of committing an offence under Part 1 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rehabilitation of Nazism).

Investigation and the court established that not later than on May 4, 2020 Khoroshiltsev, in order to approve the crimes determined by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg, posted a photo of Adolf Hitler in the public domain of the Memory Bank website on the Internet for its further broadcast on the Immortal Regiment Online website along with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers.

The conclusions of the investigation about Khoroshiltsev's involvement in the commission of this offense were based on a set of evidence obtained during the investigation of the criminal case, including the results of computer and portrait forensic examinations and testimony of witnesses including representatives of the scientific community, historians, archivists.

Khoroshiltsev was sentenced by court to pay a fine.
