The investigation into the criminal case against three defendants accused of hooliganism in the Moscow Metro completed

The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia promptly completed the investigation into the criminal case against three men aged 27, 30 and 36. They are accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of people).

According to investigators, in the evening of October 12, 2021 in the car of the electric train running from the station "Volgogradsky Prospekt" to the station "Tekstilshchiki" Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line of the Moscow Metro, the accused showed aggression against a woman. Other citizens interceded for the passenger. In the course of the conflict, the defendants, expressing a clear lack of respect for society, used violence and threatened to use it against others in the car of the electric train, which, given the overcrowded car, had an increased danger to society.

The suspects were detained on suspicion of committing a crime and put into custody.

The Moscow investigators quickly conducted a complex of necessary investigative actions, examined and seized CCTV footage, which recorded the unlawful actions of the perpetrators, questioned witnesses and eyewitnesses to what happened. The investigation was supervised by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The investigation gathered enough evidence; therefore, the criminal case was promptly submitted for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to the court to be tried on the merits.
