The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a criminal case into the poisoning of men with surrogate alcohol in Moscow on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 Article 238 of the Criminal Code (the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of man by negligence).
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. Strizhov to report on the investigation and put the investigation under control of the Central Office of the Committee.
The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia are already investigating a number of criminal cases of poisoning people with surrogate alcohol in the Orenburg, Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions. Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to analyze all cases of poisoning with alcohol surrogate, identify the causes of such incidents and propose measures aimed at preventing such incidents.
