The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia was reported on the incident in the Ryazan Region, where people were killed and injured as a result of a fire in the territory of FSUE "Plant of Synthetic Fibers "Elastik" in Shilovsky district The Ryazan Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings into a crime under Part 3 Article 217 of the Criminal Code (violation of industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons).
According to investigators, on October 22 there was a fire in the premises used by Razryad LLC, as a result of which, according to preliminary data, 17 people were injured, 15 of them died, 1 was hospitalized and the fate of 1 person remains unknown. The number of victims will be clarified.
At the request of Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin to provide comprehensive practical assistance in establishing the most complete picture and causes of the incident, the experienced forensic specialists of the Central Office (Forensic Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia were sent to the Ryazan Region.
In addition, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to transfer the criminal case for further thorough and comprehensive investigation to the Main Investigative Department of the Central Office of the agency.
As part of a criminal investigation, investigators will necessarily check the level of industrial safety of hazardous production facilities at the plant for compliance with established standards. Investigation is considering different versions of causes of the fire. It will be possible to speak clearly about the reasons of the incident after a series of examinations, which will be appointed in the nearest future.
