On December 5, 2021 the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Khakassia received a report about the death of two children in a fire in a private house located in the village of Novonazimovo of Yenisei district of Krasnoyarsk territory. A criminal case was launched into this matter under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (causing death by negligence to two persons).

According to investigators there was a family with three children aged 1 year 8 months, 5 and 10 years living in the house. In the evening the children's mother stoked the furnace and left the children in the house for a while, and some time later she saw that there was a fire in the house. The older boy managed to leave the premises, the younger children - a boy and a girl - could not be saved.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia A.G. Zyubanov to establish all causes and conditions of the incident and report on the progress of the criminal investigation.
