On June 2, 2024, a 41-year-old resident of the city of Chernogorsk fired a shot at a 24-year-old district police officer who arrived to investigate a report of a disturbance of public order. The police officer was taken to a medical facility, where he received necessary medical help. The actions of the suspect were intercepted by police officers who arrived at the scene. The suspect died while being transported to a medical facility.

The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia have launched a criminal case on the fact of the attack on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia, A.L. Eryomin, to report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the established circumstances.
