The investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region detained five suspects in the attempted murder of the director of the Moscow market (Part 3 of Article 30, pp. “zh, z”, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the RF).
According to the investigation, in February 2024, one of the co-owners of a market located in the Otradnoye district of Moscow came up with a plan to kill his business partner with the aim to take over his share of the business. To execute his plan, he contacted an acquaintance, allocating 2.5 million rubles to carry out the plan. This acquaintance then found the other accomplices.
The suspects studied the victim’s daily route and schedule by carrying out surveillance on him. They planned to stage a car accident during which they would kill the businessman, staging the incident as a road rage conflict. For their criminal purposes, they acquired a car VAZ 2107 and assigned roles among themselves. On the night of May 3-4, 2024, choosing the right moment during their surveillance, one of the accomplices, driving the car on a highway in Pavlovsky Posad, provoked a car accident involving the victim's car. When the victim’s car stopped, a second accomplice ran up to the his car and fired several shots at him from a gun, hitting him in the neck and arm. The attackers then fled the scene. Thanks to timely and qualified medical assistance, the victim has survived.
As a result of the investigative actions and operational search activities, all persons involved in the attempted murder have been identified. Some of them were arrested in the Krasnodar region, several others were detained in the Moscow region.
At the request of the investigation, the court ordered the suspects to be held in custody. The investigation continues to collect and consolidate evidence and to determine the role and degree of involvement in the crime of each accomplice.
